Don't take too much advantage on the weak dollar! No doubt you will be getting a great value. I suspect that the dealer is working with about a $3-4K gross on a preowned trade. 2001 C4 for $40K seems about $2K high. I would offer them $37 and work your way up.
New Country has an excellent reputation but remember....it is a used car and it must have a pre purchase inspection if you want to be safe. |

I guess I would do the same if our $$$ were worth more. But you are assuming some risks so lets discuss how to manage those risks.
A pre purchase inspection is to protect you for any unforseen significant issues that the selling dealer might not be aware of. For example, 996s are known for possible issues with the rear main seal leaking. Can be expensive to fix and should be checked. There are other checks that should be performed. However, you can take a risk and ask the selling dealer to do an inspection and send you a report of what was found, fixed, etc. Even though New Country is a great dealership, you will have no recourse if there is an expensive issue to be fixed. A pre purchase inspection is important. Go to Rennlist.org and post onto the 996 board for recommendations as to where to have a pre purchase inspection. |
