Watch out between Harris Ranch and Kettleman City, about a 20 mile stretch, that's where I always got pulled over until I learned better...

Harris Ranch. And Coalinga county. Going down the Grapevine. All hot spots. Honestly there are CHP littered throughout most of the way. You should definitely have a radar detector for this trip. The one time I got a ticket, got a radar ticket in another car that had no detector. Cop was cool though and wrote a low speed so I could take traffic school... but they'll be out there and you'll run across several.

101 South between Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills. Have seen 4 All-White California Highway Patrol units on the side with cars pulled over... all within 10 days.

if you're gonna weave through traffic or drive fast, do so in the far right lanes. that way it just looks like you're driving along with the flow of traffic. of course, don't go too crazy and run people off the road.
speeding in the carpool lane is just stupid. that's like holding a sign saying "please catch me".

Definitely the NorCal Stretch. From LA to SD, the CHP is a lot looser.
