Automatic Revving in car -

Hi all,

I have a 335i n55 that seems to have an issue.
My driveway is on a slight hill, and I reverse down it get out.

After the car is idling, I put it in reverse and start backing the car out (without pressing the throttle). I am presing the break and the car revs to about 1100 rpm without pressing the throttle. This happens 2/3 times every time i start the car. (car shakes a little also) And sometimes even when the car is warm and I stop at a traffic light, stationary the car will rev to 1100/1200 rpm and then drop down.

Is this something common or is there something wrong. I am uploading a video as my description maybe a little off-
I have tried to record this for the past 3-4 months - (its not my daily car) and when the phone comes out the car behaves lol. What acoincidence.

I have caught a little bit just now - not the best footage but i hope you guys will see what the problem looks like...

Thanks

First time it happens at 3/4 seconds which i did not capture very well.
This didn't rev as high as 1100 as i was on flat ground.
It revs that high when i reverse down a hill.

My diesel is revving by itself but in my case it's down to the coolant temp sensor failing.

When it fannies around the ecu reckons the coolant is -36 degrees!
