HELP Resetting A Short Circuit Fault In A FRM Module
Ok so I got the BMWWhat app ( Carly for BMW) and their Carly BMW Gen 2 Wifi adapter for iphone/iOS. pretty straight forward until I tried to code my FRM (foot well Module) setting and got an error about "carly has found severe faults in your FRM..." and warns not to continue..
I see there is a warranty extended for my car on the FRM for 8years / 128,000 miles but I already spoke to the dealer and its going to be tough to get it covered because other than my Carly app there is no proof its bad... could / would any one want to help try and Reset a Short Circuit Fault In A FRM3r Module I have a 2011 328i x drive with AHL and xenon Also if i got a new FRM from a 2011 328i drive with AHL and Xenon will i need to program my VIN/VO to it and is that something some one could remotely help me do? Kinda lost here as what to do. |

I do not know the exact faults as I just have the BMWwhatapp and WiFi adapter currently. it just says sever faults in your FRM and has therefor NOT coded your FRM.
Can you recommend a good cable to plug my laptop into the OBD port? I would prefer to use Windows 10 if possible? |

is the BMW INPA / Ediabas K+DCAN USB Interface over at One Stop Electronics worth the $99.00? or is there a cheaper on that is know to work? what about getting the "coding pack" from bmwspot for $19.99 is it worth the 20 buck to save me some headache? they say they can give INPA along with ISTAD with the packs..

I e-mailed the devs about this at one point when I saw this message on a friend's car, and they pointed to a known issue with the FRM "Boot sectors" (those were their words) occurring on some cars. They said that they elected to err on the side of safety for those cars that are potentially affected by this issue. |

Hi there. Any updates on your issue OP? Having the same problem with mine. So frustrating coz that's what I got the Carly adapter/app for...to do codings. Didn't proceed with the 4 code to bypass though, afraid it would brick the whole FRM.
