BMW/N54 mechanic in the CT area?
Anyone know any good mechanic that works with the e9x platform mainly and that has access to inpa/ista. Won't let me communicate using MHD/Inpa. Car currently isn't starting. Cranks but does not start. Was jumped multiple times from the rear if that matters.

Few questions:
When the car was jumped, would it start/run? Do you have a JB4 installed? That will cause communication problems if it is not set to map 0. Any codes through MHD, or do you have zero communication with that too? Did this happen after a flash/reflash? Is the battery new or old? Have you had the battery cable recall performed? -These cars are electronics nightmares, any issue with voltage will cause a myriad of problems.

Yes the would start start/run but idling really roughly. It was at the body shop and we would move it around the lot when needed and into the paint booth.
I do and it is set to map 0. Was thinking maybe I should pull it out all together and see what happens then. No codes through MHD since it says "cannot communicate with vehicle" or something like that. Tried INPA as well. Did not flash/reflash. It's an aftermarket battery in there so I'm assuming new? No haven't had the battery cable recall performed but car won't even start just cranks so can't move it anywhere lol. Thanks for the input btw. Quote:

So u have jb4 and a mhd BEF? if so, putnthe jb4 back on. After I flash my car I forget to put the jb4 back on and it cuts fuel and shuts off.

Could be the battery cable recall issue causing the car to not have power/communication.
