subframe bushing

how much can I expect to pay for subframe bushing replacement(front and back) along with engine mounts?
lets say I go with all m3 parts?

check fcpeuro or ecs for parts prices, labor, a lot...dropping subframes and taking bushings out is not super easy and they will probably charge you some hours...unless you're planning on DIY then I suggest a full weekend On a personal note, I don't feel that M3 parts are worth and also not sure if they also fit.

Definitely, the M3 engine mounts are different. And the M3 subframe bushings aren't worth the effort, go with solid Delrin or aluminum from Turner or polyurethane from AKG Motorsport.

Personally I would go with the solid delrin bushings and plan for a weekend of fun! It's not an easy task but there are a few DIY's for it on the site. You need a lot of tools but you will save a f**k ton on labor expenses.

A shop quoted me 7.6 hours of labor to install subframe bushings.

Ha! That's insane. I did inserts in 2 hours. If I had the proper press, full bushings would have taken maybe 3 hours. That's in my garage on jack stands.

Inserts are easy. Bushing replacement not as much.

are inserts worth it?
if you loosen up the rear subframe bolt, does it drop enough to install the inserts?

If you have no plans one getting more than stock power, then yes. I will be getting AKG bushings soon to replace my inserts as the inserts are not enough.

If you have the right press it is very easy and only drop the SF like you would for inserts. Also if you install AKG or Powerflex you don't even have to press them back in.

Oh right. Dropping the subframe and getting it into a press is the easy part

I have dropped my sub a few times and it's a pain in the ass if you are a typical DIY'er without a hoist and other goodies.

Pulling the bushings with a threaded puller isn't "hard", but it is a pain in the ass. I don't care how awesome your press it.

Did solid aluminum on jack stands without dropping the full subframe, just front half then rear half. Had proper bushing press. And pulling oem and pressing in aluminum was not difficult at all.

Yes, dry iced them over 24 hrs. Then oiled the subframe for easy slide. Proper bushing tool and it took 5 min per bushing insertion. Wish we would have taken a video.
