I just did this mod, very happy with this nice addition to the factory alarm!

The only thing difficult to this mod seems the struggle with the wires which i think i found a very simple solutions for called; Posi-lock connectors.

You just connect the right wires from the shock sensor to the plugs and screw them on the adapter wire... as simple as that

I bought them here;

Be carefull to buy these mini plugs because they come in different sizes. These once are perfect for our wiring.

Hope i made your mod quite easy with this one

if anyone is interested, I've made a custom adapter to do tihs so you don't have to cut or splice any wires. I'll sell you one for $5 shipped, or i can order the 504D's if anyone needs that as well for a higher price. Here's a link with pictures:

Just did this install on my E92 M3 07.07 production.

Works flawless! Thank you!

I set my knob to just under half way and that makes the alarm go off after a strong kick to the tires.

I want to thank all of you in this thread for the conversations and the write-up. I just installed the factory alarm yesterday and of course added the shock sensor when doing the DIY. I have set it off twice now when closing the trunk while armed.... lol.

I would have to say if I knew where the trunk alarm switch was I most likely would have run some wiring back there so that I could open and close my trunk while still armed so as to not set off the alarm.

One question I have is that before I installed the alarm. When I got to work I would pop my trunk before exiting the vehicle. I would then lock my car with the remote and get my laptop out of the trunk. When I closed the trunk the lights would flash letting me know the car was locked. My thought was I could still do this with the alarm installed because I believed the car didn't lock itself until I closed the trunk. I guess I was wrong as the car does alarm itself before I close the trunk setting that alarm off. Guess this wasn't really a question since I think I stated the answer already.
