Weird rear-ender: Happened in front of me awhile back: Bonus: CIVIC That's it for now, beginning of next week I should have a Vol. 3. |

Seemed like several cases in the Vol. 2 video you just need to relax. Not every time people slow down in front of you requires you to maneuver to the shoulder and not everytime someone changes lanes or brakes in front of you require the horn honk. Just back off and go on with your day. But what do I know?

Other than that, I don't see anything I did wrong. Going to the shoulder in that one particular instance (with the Civic in front of me) was a bit hairy and could have ended badly, but it was either that or lay into the brakes and 100% no doubt in my mind get rear ended. I've done it numerous times and saved myself a rear ender, so it's usually the best option. That right mirror does not do it justice just how close these people are at 80mph. And my brakes are waaay better than their Camry's, so if I just laid on the brakes I would definitely be hit. At least with steering into the shoulder there's a good chance of no collision vs a definite. So 9 times out of 10 if they are right behind me it is the correct thing to do. But hey, if I've got room you bet I'll lay into those lovely brakes. My motto is to steer out of danger if its an option (which it was), and brake hard if it's not. It's worked pretty well for over a decade of I-4 driving. Hey, thanks brother. Yeah it's pretty unique. Not seen many dashcam videos on youtube with that view (except that old M3 in the Czech Republic I think drifting all through traffic). It's usually used for track days, but I figure it shows I'm not texting, or on my phone and shows I am signaling (which I've been falsely pulled over for) and even shows my interaction with police or road ragers if there is any. Called a Cruise Cam mount FYI. |

I'll never understand listening to dance music while not dancing. Cool vids though!
