Question about axles

Has anyone had, or considered having axles made to handle the higher tq we can make with these cars?

I think 335dsleeper might have been the first to tear one up. I recall that after he took it apart he had torn up an outboard bearing cage (or something like that).

I have read about people changing over the entire M3 sub frame and put under an E90. The M3 axles are a little bit beefier but at a big expense. The point of that thread was it was perhaps a way cheaper way to change over to the M3 rear suspension parts (cost is in neighborhood of $2500). These Australian guys were buying the entire M3 subrame with brakes, axles, hubs, differential, sway bar, etc for about the same price of $2500.

I know where 2 spare sets are but one is part of a whole 335D subframe assy. The other set can likely be bought outright.
back to this thread's point of stronger axles. I don't think the M3 axles can get swapped in without converting over the outboard carriers too. And then that causes other follow on problems.

So I bought a spare set of axles today on the cheap. I will more than likely have a set fabricated to hold up to the torque I'm making now, and potentially what I'll make in the near future

Who is going to be fabricating the new axles for you?
