Best brake pads and rotors for e92 335i?
Just upgraded to Pure Stage 2 and when braking on some of the pulls I'm getting a lot of shake and not a lot of brake performance. what is a good option for pads and slotted or drilled rotors

The only thing I don't like about he Hawk pads is the damn things squeak every time you stop. Pretty annoying. They do have better bite than stock and I like them in every other way. I am running them on Zimmerman (stock) rotors.

OEM ceramic do great. Our brakes and rotors are so large that I don't notice any appreciable difference between pads when daily driving. I wouldn't think too hard about it.
Good rotors: - Brembo - Zimmermann - ATE - Bosch Good budget rotors: - Meyle All of the above rotors are GEOMET coated. Good pads: - Textar - ATE - Bosch - Akebono Euro - EBC RedStuff |

Any squeaking with the Akebono? It was between them and the Hawk 5.0 when I was deciding. How is the dust? Virtually no dust on the Hawk.

No squeaking at all, some (little) dust over time. I have much better stopping power with a smoother lead in to breaking than stock. Some prefer an initial bite, after all race car. I don't. I prefer to feather the breaking in as I see fit. It is a refined luxury sports car, right?

R1 concepts are good rotors. Besides Stoptech and Zimmerman rotors, I would look into it.
Hawk pads don't squeak at all. At least I haven't had that problem. Get stainless steel lines as well while you're at it. |
