I wrote to the https://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/email.cfm and told them about the fuel pumps and how BMW is not addressing the issue. Maybe if enough people respond we can get them to issue a recall. I encourage you to write a short letter to them.

BMW is addressing the problem. They are replacing all the ones with issues, nothing more. Its stupid for them to have a major recall on a $1400 part, so instead of doing that and wasting tons of $$, they're going case by case. Supposedly, there's nearly no wait time compared to earlier in the year when people were waiting weeks to months to get their pump.

I, myself, picked up my 335xi on 11-30-07, and have been back to the dealer every week. And the SA is refusing to check my fuel pump even though I've told him relentlessly and he kept on running diagnostic tests on the engine. Please help how I can go about solving this. Much appreciated.
My car just had the exact same problem. I will be taking it to the dealer monday. At one point i started the car and it died within a minute of starting.
