Cheaper fix for those with active tank error codes.

Just would like to share that those are having active urea tank temperature or level sensor related codes and don't want to spend ~1200$+ on a BMW part, there is a cheaper solution found by one Nissan technician Here

VW toureg gen-2 urea tank repair kit fits perfectly on X5 35D active tank which is only around $213 Here and probably fit E90 active tank too.

Post # 11 ans 12 Here is the guy who actually ordered and installed and confirmed its working.Hope it will help someone one day.

Just want to note, if you leave the active tank sensor showing 77 degrees all the time, the heater will not power on and you will have some other issues later down the road if the urea(DEF) freezes.

VW part is actually same part that BMW supplies for 1200$+.So its going to function same as bmw factory part with proper temperature and level readings

Some people were installing resistors to fool the DDE which is not a proper fix and then temp would stay same like you said which can create problems.

If someone wants factory fix with same original part as bmw and don't want to pay premium price of 1200$ then just go and pick VW part for just $212 which is exactly same part as BMW with same part number.

Which level sensor?On a active tank or passive tank?

If you are taking about active tank level sensor then the part described above should fix that issue.

I just had this done two days ago. Was getting 4d32 error. Replaced the adblue heater straight swap with vw part. No more ses light.
