Gents i have a 2010 320d that has no DPF, i was informed the LL04 that i presently use for the diesel is related to vehicles with the DPF.

At my location Castrol is available but i was looking at options. Just checking if it would be possible to use the Liqui Moly 5w - 40 LL01 in my particular engine. FYI my car is not my daily driver so it will never exceed over 6k-km per year.

Yes, it sounds like LL-01 is fine since LL-04 is specifically related to the DPF as noted here:

Edit: also, look at the last 2 pages in that PDF. That might answer questions for your specific engine.

Thanks for info provided. The supplier informed me they can also get the following 5w-30 ACEA C3 ; API SN ; API CF ; BMW Longlife-04.

But i would prefer to use the 5w-40 due to the high temp at my location.

I'd stick with LL04, more suited to carry contaminants that diesel engine throws at it, it's not only about dpf

Liqui moly is very good stuff. better then castrol.
