How to have dsg burp when shifting
Hello everyone,
I have an E90 2011 N55 automatic, I hear a lot of e90-92 335 giving the dsg burp when up shifting, I did a lot of searches, found a lot of threads about here and there, but never found the right answer, some says I need a new exhaust, some says downpipes, some says a some sort of an ECU tune. I just want the burp sound, no performance upgrades, no new exhaust sound. Just the dsg burp. Anyone got this in his 335 can helpme in this please? Thank you in advance everyone |

I think this is only possible with a dual clutch or the newer 8 speed transmission. yours will make more of a burble similar to the sound shifting into second at low RPM in this video. to make this sound, you need to either upgrade your muffler or install a downpipe. i recommend you also delete your secondary cats while you're at it.
when i shifted into third at redline, that burp sound you hear happens when shifting quickly at basically any rpm 3000RPM and higher. this is a naturally aspirated 6 making that sound, so its not caused by turbos like i originally thought. it sounds really good! |

My N52 exhaust is completely stock except for muffler delete. I hear pops/crackles/gurgles on both upshifts and downshifts.
It might be a different story in an N55 car, but I suggest you try a muffler delete. The muffler is a pretty significant restriction in the exhaust system, and a muffler delete is 100% the cheapest way to get those sounds.

No droning, quiet at a cruise yet sounds way better when you step on it. Plus you get real gains. There's no real downside except the requirement to tune. |

Thank you guys,
i think muffler delete will make the exhaust much louder and sometime might be annoying. the 335 that i heard before with the burp sound don't have very loud exhaust note. someone yesterday told that the ppk might let the car do this... i don't know how true this is |

I'm running the MHD tune with the burble option active. That definitely get the sound going but it's still a bit hard to hear from the drivers seat. I plan on doing a catless downpipe in the future to get the volume up a bit.
