Professional HU going in
Gents Im gonna put my professional HU in next weekend this is the one with Bluetooth and USB built in, my current HU does not have these functions and I do not have any of the pre-wiring installed, I know now how to get the car prepped for the install with regard to the trim removal etc etc and how to run the nesccary cables, now I have to get onto the issue of the coding......now I gave the person I bought the HU from my vin who said it should now just be plug abs play but I'm not so sure, now from all I can see to activate the USB and Bluetooth they need to be changed in the RAD2 module?
I've got a 2007 320d msport Is that all I need to do? |

Mine has been installed but not coded for well over a year. I did a small amount of fiddling with my laptop and software which may have done something and bluetooth works, usb does not.
I believe you need something more than NCS Expert to get the USB working which Im sure Vorph knows the answer to. I have been using AUX in with my Hi-Def Audio player and works fine as is but ultimately want it coded fully. |

Ok here's an update, I test fitted the unit, the BT and the USB work fine, I just need to hide the cables, now the USB recognises my phone as IPHONE but said the cables not supported probably because I got it cheap off amazon, do BMW make an official lightning ended Y cable? Any ideas?

I've seen this one and it's on real-oem.com
Part number 61122287642 That one plugs into the aux and USB in the centre console then only one connection to the phone? I thought it needed to have the aux into the phone/iPod as well? |

all i did was provide my VIN to the guy i bought the new HU from then all of the functions worked from the get go, running the Bluetooth mic was a little bit of a pain and running the USB from the HU to the armrest was fiddly but less than 2 hours work it was all in, i recommend getting the all in one HU over the MULF system that has to go in the boot, much much easier to install
