Had the no sound problem again this morning when it was -5, so I popped the trunk and unplugged the display and the sound came on immediately. I wish I would have known to try that a couple months ago.

KSP, it worked! I unplugged the display last night and when I got out of work tonight it was 4 degrees outside and the audio came on right away. I wish I would have known about this fix before I bought a new battery for nothing. At least the problem is solved now. Thanks man.

Good deal, 2 for 2. Look at it this way on the battery, even if you didn't need a new one right away, with an '09 you'd probably need one within a year or two. And with as cold as it's been this winter I'd feel a lot better knowing I had a new battery instead of one that was 5 years old.

Just out of curiosity did you disconnect the display cable from the side that plugs into the ms8 or from the side that plugs into the screen?

Also have you guys had any issues in the cold since?

My MS8 has been driving me nuts in the cold. Its under warranty but don't want the unit ripped apart for nothing.
