Just picked it up from my trusted Indy I found. Full PPI (Clean), oil service...a lot more than my 335i and a Dension BT unit install....the car is just awesome.

So I am a few months into ownership of this car...it's flat out awesome. A true sports car. I will tell you though, I love my BMW. It's smoother, easier to drive and in a straight line, faster. No comparison...my 335 is a beast.
The other thing is that anything on a Porsche is exponentially more $$ than a BMW. Bluetooth streaming unit and wireless phone...1k. I had engine mounts replaced with semi solid ones, transmission mounts and a "tune"...2.4k. I have a great tech who is honest and solid but you can't escape the Porsche tax. The sound, the feel and the brakes....good god the brakes! Worth the money I paid and I am very fortunate to have both cars to drive. 991 Turbo will be next. |

I own a 07 C2S as well. Love it. Only 05 and early 06 997s have the dreaded single row IMS bearing. Those need to get the LN IMS retrofit. 06 and earlier cars also need to have the rear main seal looked at. Your 07 should have the newer design RMS. Other then those two things, 997.1s dont have any major issues. Engine mounts go out and should be considered a maintenance item (450 bucks, easy to do it at home). The coil packs also crack if you have the older design which most 07s do. These are a pain to change and you should get them done when you're getting the plugs changed. Also the coolest reservoir is an issue, which should be checked for cracks. This is also a pain to do, so get it done at your major service.
Stay away from Rennlist or 6SpeedOnline.... after reading some post you will be paranoid and think your car is falling a part! Last edited by Digital.James; 03-18-2017 at 10:50 PM.. |
