transmission failure - drive moderately

so, i feel that myu transmission is not 100% for longer time, as the shifts feel kinda heavy, or slippery sometimes, and today I put my foot down on lights and then stopped abruptly and i had a message that transmission failure, but then I switched off and on and the message was not there anymore, but I feel the car feels more sluggish at low rpm's like torque is not there.
any similar stories? what might be wrong? updating soft would help?
the oil was changed 2 years ago, but it never felt smooth when accelerating

First would be to pull faults. No updating it will not fix it.

If the fluid was changed 2 years ago, have you checked the fluid level?

4f81 - Ratio monitoring, clutch A
hi these is the code.
also, the transmission was shifting hectically some time already, especially from the standstill it seems like there is not enough power to hold and slips. it is better at higher speeds though.
i already researched some stuff online and can share if someone interested, like there is this MECHATRONIC ADAPTER SEAL that cracks and costs like 17 dollars that needs to be changed every 70kmls. even though no signs of it cracking, it will result in full transmission failure that I possibly have....

I was going to replace the seal on my car but it wasn't necessary. It wasn't leaking or cracked. Have you ever reset the adaptation values? Between getting the fluid changed and resetting the adaptations, there was a noticeably smoother shifting process.

Does the trans fluid need to be checked at operating temp? Is it the same fill port that you use to check?

There is a specific temp range the transmission needs to be at. Watch this youtube video for the procedure.

I had my transmission serviced at my Indy at 65k and provided the kit from CTSC which didn't include the mechatronic adapter seal. They changed it on there own accord and charged me something like $14 for the part.

Weird, my CTSC kit included the seal. I just didn't replace it because it appeared to be a PITA to deal with, and showed zero signs of wear, breaking, or leaking. It's a cheap part though. Sounds like the shop may not have checked it at the correct operating temp, or the car wasn't level. However, the transmission shouldn't be broken. I read about a guy driving around with low fluid and all he had to do was swap out the fluid and all was good. Depending on how long ago it was the Indy did the fluid, they may help you out.

The kits a couple years ago didnt include the seal because the 6hp26/28 doesnt have the same issues that the 6hp19 had. Now for some reason the kit does include the sleeve even though leaking still doesnt seem to be a normal issue.

I think everyone is talking about two different items. I assumed the op was referring to this adapter:
http://www.thectsc.com/products/mech...p32-42-52.html

more info:
http://www.thectsc.com/images/pdf/th...eplacement.pdf

My kit included the sleeve, but not the above adaptor. Indy replaced both. I can't imagine that piece destroying a transmission, but I'm not going to lie I know nothing about working on them.

Gotcha. I ordered my kit in September/October last year, so it must be hit or miss if you get them included.
