Where to buy dashcam in Canada? Any recommendations?
Hi all,
Just wanted to know where I can buy a good dashcam somewhere in Canada? Reason is that I would like to avoid shipping from the states since our dollar isn't too strong. I know amazon.ca has dash cams but I am not too sure what the quality of those are unless someone can vouch for a dashcam they bought on amazon as well. Looking for something that's not too bulky and obvious and has built in wifi so I can easily transfer videos from the cam to any smart device. So if you can let me know a good place or site and any recommendations for a dashcam selection, that would be extremely helpful. Thanks! |

Check out DODTech. They make great cameras, and they're based out of Ontario. I've been using one of theirs for 3 years now.

I actually just bought a blackvue 2CH kit from blackboxmycar.ca
My brother and GF did so as well in the recent past. Great pricing and awesome support.

I ordered their hardware kit as well as an add-a-fuse kit from amazon. It was around $20 for the add-a-fuse kit and it came with I think 5 of those taps, plus a bunch of mini fuses. Way cheaper than their pricing of $10 per tap.

I have an A118C and three A119 dashcams from VOIFO and love them so far. Just make sure you get a VOIFO branded one as they're the official manufacturer and the firmware updates only work with their version AFAIK. Check out dashcamtalk.com for more info.
I bought all my dashcams and accessories from SpyTec on Amazon.ca; legit seller and they don't collect sales tax. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01HMZVYLY Mine is hardwired to the 12v circuit fuse in the passenger side fusebox with an add-a-circuit. Very easy to install. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00MH4ZVHO/ |

I just picked up the A119s (the newest version with the Sony sensor, better low light sensitivity) from amazon.ca, picking the EnjoyGadgets distributor:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listi...9513475&sr=8-1 This model doesn't have built-in wifi though, but the A118c/A119/A119s is nice and discreet. They're fulfilled by Amazon so you'd get it within a few days. |

Def would go with blackboxmycar. They have great customer service, they are Canadian and they sponsor enthusiast events such as one of the local Autocross clubs.

Shipping is fast and great customer service too. I just finished hardwiring mine this afternoon. Excited to finally have some extra insurance for the daily considering I drive 90% of the time in Bramladesh with suicidal drivers.

Yup. Walk in the park. Tapped fuses 8 and 59 for accessory and battery constant respectively. The ground bolt is right there in the glovebox too.
It took me much longer to decide where to mount the camera and to tuck the cables out of sight front and back lol.

Yup around the A/B/C-Pillars and headliner. Using the trim tools it's was very easy to tuck them in.
