Sea Foam

Has anyone used Sea Foam to clean the engine?

I recall I read somewhere someone uses it to clean intake valve too?

But there are also people saying it works.
Walnut blasting will still be the best option but I am thinking it won't hurt to occasionally use this Sea Foam too?

Reply from the supplier:
"Hi. I don't use seafoam. My hydrogen carbon clean is 100% eco-friendly, non toxic and non abrasive.
It's an excellent alternative to the walnut blast that BMW recommend every 30,000km's.
I also have eco-friendly fuel system treatments."

Worth trying if it's only $200-300?

Why would you spend 200-300 bucks on a treatment that WILL not clean the intake valves even as close as well as a walnut blast which is only a bit more expensive at 400-500 bucks from a reputable shop?

Here in WA, the soda blasting quoted is $600+
Not sure if any other shops offer cheaper one with walnut blasting yet.

I personally wouldn't waste my time with sea foam on DI fuel systems.

Can't remember where I found it but someone used sea foam which had no effect on the carbon build-up.

I read that before too that seafoam doesn't really help with carbon build up. Especially area around the intake valve stem.

My goodness, those quotes are insane in WA!

Last time I checked, Hills Eurohaus did it for 425 and Advan does it for 500. My second cousin works for Audi and has a walnut blasting tool at the dealership that he can do for my car on Sundays when the service department is closed

Also Top One Auto in Arncliffe do walnut blasting for 400. They specialise in Hondas and Nissans. But they are getting a huge amount of Euros coming into the shop and have invested in the tool for potential customers

Yeah 500 seems to be a good price from what ive found, my mech is about 600 from memory, but he makes up for that easily in other jobs where ive been well looked after.

They must have jacked up their prices, last time I got my car done with them (earlier last year) it was around $550.

I thought walnut blasting is way more effective than soda blasting?
Why people still offering soda blasting and more importantly, at that price.
