Passenger Seat Occupancy Mat

Hey,

It's been a while since I've been on here

Yesterday i had the airbag/seat belt light come on. Attached a code reader today and I'm getting 9700 Left Occupancy mat installed incorrectly. I'm assuming its a faulty mat.

Just wondering how hard it is to disable this feature in coding? or if anyone has purchased the emulator module off ebay to rectify this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

As I understand the occupancy sensor emulators disable the airbag light on the instrument cluster and provides for airbag activation regardless of any occupancy in the seat. The cost is about 50-70USD.

A replacement sensor mat is 120USD. A few hours to install and the airbag system operates as intended.

Not really a great price discrepancy to have an integral safety component to operate as intended.
