Wher to look for private sales of used BMW 3 series?

I am looking for a 2006 BMW 330i/xi or a 2007 328 i/xi/coupe but it seem there is no real good place online to look for private sales of these vehicles. Maybe there isn't that many available but in the US it seems like they are all over the place. If it wasn't for all the BMW Canada hassle I would have imported one already.

Buying from a BMW dealer seems crazy since they tack on like 20 - 30% over the black book value and on top of that I have to pay the GST with a dealer.

Any suggestions?

My lease is up in just over 4 months, and I won't likely be keeping the car. It's in excellent shape, extremely low km's for a 2.5 year old car (36k as of next week) and comes with the M-Technik Aero kit (front bumper with fogs, side skirts and rear bumper with matte diffuser) installed. It's got the premium package, the sport package with the Take-Off 162's, and Active Steering. It's a 6spd manual transmission. As a bonus, I'll throw in the OEM side skirts and rear bumper. This car has been babied and cared for extremely well, the only reason I won't be keeping it, is because I want a 335.

Should also add that you'll only pay GST on a private sale, but PST & GST from the dealerships.

Check the old school, newspapers.

A lot of older buyers use this method. Younger people use the electronic means, most older buyers sell their cars, younger ones lease.

My budget is around 40k.

I would prefer one bone stock as I like to do any mods myself. Would also prefer Alpine White... last car was black and I really don't want to deal with another black car if possible.

I may have overdone the explanation on what's been done to the car; it's essentially stock, save the M-Technik kit. And, if you're really wanting to start from stock, I've got everything except the front bumper in storage (almost as new).

Can't do much about the colour though

Interesting...While were on this topic, just wondering does anybody have a Jet/Sapphire Black 2006 330i? That they are planning to sell soon or return to lease or whatever reason?

I guess my car will just go back to the dealership where someone will ultimately over-pay for a kickass car with silly low km's in excellent condition.

Where are you looking? I have tried Cars.com and autotrader.com, but they seem to be almost exclusively dealers' inventory.
