Adding a sub in the trunk! (HELP)

Hello all! I'm looking to add a subwoofer in the trunk of my 2009 328i x-drive coupe. I have the standard hifi system (tweeters but no center speaker). I plan on tapping into the wires from the subs under the front seats using a line out convert or to get the RCA signal to my aftermarket amp. However, if I do so, will the "bass" equalizer option in the stock headunit effect my aftermarket subs volume when I lower or raise that level? Or will that strictly be determined by my amps gain? I'm trying to save my front speakers and limit distortion a bit by limiting the amount of bass they play, and obviously there isn't a built in crossover, however, I don't want my subwoofer to play quiet because I have to have the "bass" down on the head unit to prevent distortion of the front speakers?

Since the HI FI SYSTEM is mediocre you will have a
mediocre system with bass but that's enough for some
people I guess.

You might want to consider using the technic harness and replacing the hifi amp with a 5 channel amp. You would run the door speakers and under seats using the front channel. And the run the sub off the rear channel. You lose your rear speakers, but you can use the fader to increase/decrease the subwoofer.

The hifi speakers benefit greatly from an aftermarket amp. I ran the setup I am describing for a while and it was an improvement over stock.

So where exactly could I pick up one of these technic harnesses for the hifi system?
