Can I fit a 275 tire without rubbing?
I have a 2008 e92 with the stock sport suspension option. I just ordered a set of Linea Corse LC818 19x8.5 +30 (front) and 19x10 +37 (rear). I plan on ordering a set of Pilot Sport 4S's probably 235/35/19 for the front, but was wondering if I could fit 275/30/19 in the rear without rubbing? I don't plan on doing any suspension mods other than a set of front lowering spring perchs (which lowers the front 10 - 15 mm). My rear fender are actually rolled right now because my stock wheels were rubbing on big bumps thanks to my spacers (which won't be needed with the new wheels). I want to fit the biggest tire in the rear I can without any rubbing. So should I go with 265 or 275?

275. I run a 275/30-19 on the rear of my car with 19x9.5. No rubbing.
I'm also running a 5mm spacer to get them as close to the fender as I can. My car is a Pre-LCI E90.

I run a 275, had to get my fenders rolled. It would rub when it hit dips. I'm also lowered on KW's but I have them all the way up. Current specs are:
Front 19x8.5 et35 235/35/19 Rear 19x9.5 et40 275/30/19 |

I have 275/30-19 on 19x9.5" +32. I had to roll my fenders. Mostly rubbed over big bumps but it was annoying enough to need the roll.

Note to all, take a peek at the tire sizes of the Michelin PSS and the new 4S tires.
For some reason, the new 4S tires are substantially narrower than their PSS counterparts. I have 265/30/19 PSS and the 275/30/19 4S is narrower than my 265's according to Michelin. They show the 275 4S to be comparably as wide as a 255 PSS. Even if a 275 PSS is close, the 4S should give you more room. On the original topic, I have 275/17 M/T Drag radials (bigger than PSS for the size) and they fit my e92 but rub on large bumps too. I do not think it is the width, but the height that is causing my problem, they scrub the plastic liner at the top of the fender well. |
