E90, 2006 330xi w/131k on her: rough idle, seat vibrates

Hi forum -

I haven't searched yet, sorry because I want a few gut reactions, plus curious about following.

1. Would a misfiring ignition coil cause CEL on this car?

2. What else could cause this rough idle? Sometimes I start it, it acts fine - other times, it's idling rough so bad where my seat is vibrating as well. I'm idling around 750 rpm.

Someone glanced at one of my power steering lines the other day and said you may want to flush that. It was sort of a different issue we were discussing, about how it jerked when I took-off from a stop into a slight turn. like leaving a parking lot and entering a roadway - but could that also be related here?

I appreciate the help. I do most work on this thing myself, but this one has me sort of stuck so far.

Rough Idle

Rough idle could be multiple things, are there any codes? Depending on age and mileage it could be your VANOS solenoids - I just replaced mine and got rid of the rough idle, but mine threw codes, so it was easy... Let me know what codes you have and I try to help.

check for codes. what have you replaced recently?

is the car running rough at all RPM? does it burn oil and are you getting a sulfur smell from the exhaust when particularly driving aggressively.
