Pre-LCI seats in an LCI, Any errors?

I know usually people ask the other way around but will any errors come up? I'm looking into upgrading to leather and the donor car is Pre-LCI with heated seats

No mate shouldn't be a problem. Main difference between the pre lci and lci is that the lci version has a head restraint airbag so has an extra connector.
Pre lci doesn't have this so leaving it unconnected shouldn't make a difference as the car isnt looking for it

If yours is an Lci and you are fitting Pre-Lci then you will get errors from the lack of headrest restraint. I think you can code them out or remove the internals of the restraints.

Also you may have issues with the pumped up bolsters. My Lci interior in my pre lci caused no issues but bolsters don't work as wiring is different.

Sorry mate mis read the thread. Thought you wanted LCI seats in a pre lci.

Yes you will get errors unless you bypass the error. Could maybe find out what resistance is required accross the connector and bypass with a resistor.

Otherwise beat geting lci seats. I went through the same mess myself. Ended up opting for proper lci seats to avoid the hassle

That's what I've done. Got some LCI leathers off a 2011. Picking up next week

This is not a good idea I've done a few seat swaps and would not recommend putting pre-lci seats in an LCI.

The passenger seat occupancy matt is different from pre to post LCI and will set off the warning lights.
Also the lack of headrest airbags needs a resistor fitting, which sounds easy but its not as I found the light will still sometimes come back on.

Ended up settling for a LCI mate. Asked a couple of friends who did it and they also said it's headache

It's always hassle, but can be done. But yeah easiest is to juts find LCI seats as you have.

I had this when I fitted the M3 seats. Everything was the same apart from one wire for the bolsters.

Needed to tap off the one to the correct pin position.
Think it was something like:

PIN 7 (smaller pin) - Steady+ : lumbar/bolster for cars from 03/2007
PIN 9 (larger pin) - Steady+ : lumbar/bolster for cars to 03/2007

So I tapped off PIN9 and added PIN7 and all sorted.

Worth a check anyway.
