I got this cable on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017IG81SQ/ Sold by Fang fei and Fulfilled by Amazon.

This cable is cheaper than the $99 cable and it is working as expected for coding. Already did the Alpina B3 flash and used the cable to clear some error codes with free version of MHD app.

I have seen an option in the free version of MHD app to reset battery. Not sure if it works to register battery but you can try it. You also need OTG cable to connect the DCAN cable to Andriod device running the MHD app.
