DPF Warning Light
unfortunately my DPF warning light finally came on. I guess I now have to do a full DPF delete. I know much has been written on this site about different kits but does anybody have a downpipe and exhaust combo recommendation for doing a complete DPF delete? what is a reasonable price to pay? any thoughts on how much it will cost to have a shop pull my old exhaust system and install a new one?

Chief! Where have you been keeping yourself? I even wrote a thread worrying about what happened to you?
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1324689 A lot has happened since you we last heard from you in terms of exhaust and down pipes. The one source I recommend I will have to PM you about. |

I wonder if you have something else going on. Maybe a failed sensor or something. Seems like low mileage to cause an issue. Have you tried forcing a regen or measured ash content with icarly?

Welcome back Chief! If the fault code is 452A it is merely a part of the CBS strategy to signal DPF near end of life. BMW sets this as a default mileage reminder only, it does not mean anything is wrong with your DPF. You can reset this for another 120,000 miles if that is the case. I reset wife's X5d in ISTA as the operating parameters of the DPF were fine.

I have not tried it or used Carly to reset any CBS reminders. I was able to monitor parameters and did a little coding too. It is more like resetting an adaptation, not the same as resetting an oil or brake service. You are basically telling the car that the DPF has been replaced and it re-calibrates from there. I don't think you can reset adaptations in Carly. Rheingold/ISTA is easy to use, but you need to buy a decent cable to exploit all the functions.
