They will also tune it so the egr valve will close after warm up, I will be adding that to my tune after I do CBU cleaning. If it's on the lift I would do it now,u gotta send em the DDE, so the car will be down for at least 2 days for that.
I grew up in Boulder Creek, and have always driven highway 9 and have built all my cars, except the D, to drive highway 9. I commute over highway 17 now, but when it was closed I took hwy 35 to 9 to get home, and this car kicks ass, I've never really pushed it till recently and man it sticks to the road, my only complaint is that I got really bad brake fade coming down hwy 9 |

Is it worth it to get the updated stage 1 tune over the old one? Will I be able to tell the difference or should I just wait for the big conversion of full delete and all bolt ons?

I hear you on the Hwy 9 brake fade (Soquel San Jose Hwy in my case). I took care of that.

I subsequently chatted with Bob about this. My current tune was deliberately chosen to be of the low/no smoke variety so as to be CA stealthy. The new tune certainly won't be any LESS smokey and so I've no plans to upgrade at this point. Current tune works great, I'm happy, so no need to "fix" it. My spare DDE is now just insurance, rather than essential.
