FRM module he!p
I have an E90 2008 325D. Last year I had an issue, where my rear offside light (the outer one) was permanently on. I had to remove the bulb whilst driving around. It went to my local specialist as we thought that it needed a new FRM in the foot well.
They checked everything and apparently reset the lights and it's been fine since then (nothing was replaced) 2 days ago, I plugged my cable into the OBD to check something and straight away, my car put up a light out error message, when i checked the rear, the same light as before is stuck on again . I've used BMW Carly app to code in my DRL's when I first bought the car and when I checked with the App yesterday, it won't let any coding take place, as it detects a fault with my FRM. Is there a way I can reset the lights? I have a a cable and I think NCS Expert, plus my partner's brother has a workshop and computer he can plug in. Any ideas? I'm thinking that maybe using the BMW Carly app may have done something, as when I read about it yesterday, the way it codes to the car, is different to the likes of NCS Expert. I was quoted nearly £500 for a new module, so any help is appreciated 😀 |

So we worked out the issue with the lights, it was simply a blown side light bulb, which the car has taken as a short circuit. The other light is put on, due to the DRL settings. Even after changing the bulb, it was still an issue, as the car still has the short circuit error, once this had been reset, it was back to normal.
Just need to use NCS expert to change the DRL settings, so that it doesn't use the rear marker lights |
