V2 - Limp Mode

A few weeks back I was doing a highway pull in 3rd. As I shifted into 4th, I went into limp mode and the "half engine power" light came on. I turned the car and turned it back on. Limp mode was gone and the light went off.

This past Tuesday, I was on the highway having a little fun and as I floored it in 5th (around 120mph) the car just shuddered and did nothing. But as I let off a little bit, the car ran like a beast.

So, I had the car in the shop to see what the deal was with the half power light and I had "superknocking" codes on ALL 6 cylinders in the mid 4k RPM range. Also it said to replace the plugs.

I will have the plugs replaced under warranty and load a new map (January 9th or 10th version?) and start doing some datalogs. Here are my current settings

-v2
-6mt
-speed limiter removed (December 2Xth map)
-95% settings
-3-4 gallons of 100 octane on every fill up
-BMC Air Filter
-FAKE eisenmann race exhaust

You should of uploaded the Jan 10 th map that fixed that problem last month.

shiv recently said there is a problem with using the v1 green loom as the speed delimit wire. Take that out, load a speed-limited map, and see if the problem persists.

How much is your peak boost at 95%?

Did you take the Procede out prior to going to the Dealer?

Not sure if I am have something similar as I am not even sure what knocking sounds like...

I am on V2 and if I do a pull from 4th to 5th gears, I will get a limp at redline and the engine starts to run bad like it is misfiring...turn the car off and on again and it disappears. With 1.47, when I had limp modes, the engine still ran smooth but with a lot less power

Is this what you meant by shuddered? Also, can anyone describe what knocking sounds like? Shiv did say like bees in a can but that gives me the impression that it is quite high pitch?

Nope. I work for the dealer...

Superknocking is the the BMW code that was stored. You can really hear a ticking noise at start-up and in 1st and 2nd gear when driving next to buildings and what not....

The shuddering was kind of like I was flooding the car. Too much fuel than the engine could handle....

I NEVER had a limp mode issue with 1.47...
