Any CA people leasing and have personlaized plates ?

I was going to get my sister some personalized plates for her birthday, and the DMV nazis say that she has to get some special letter from the leasing company in order to have the plates . Is this true ? Any help you guys can give me is much appreciated.....even though she drives an 08 MBZ

yeah you do. for leased or company owned vehicles.
If you are ordering personalized plates for a leased vehicle or a company owned vehicle and your name is NOT on the registration, a 'Statement of Facts (REG 256)' form must be submitted. Have your lessor or company owner complete the REG 256, giving authorization for the plates to be assigned to the vehicle. Bring the completed form when picking up your plates. You will be able to access the 'Statement of Facts (REG. 256)' form on the Order Summary page when you have completed your order.
