12.90's... seriously?? Wtf
So, i know we all feel like we "should" be running faster than we do, but take a look at my mods and let me know if you think 12.90's is about a second slow. I wonder if i should have some jb4/meth settings set differently.
2008 e90 6mt -jb4 -mhd bef -bms meth -rb turbos -rb inlets -******* dp's -bms intake -er chargepipe -4bar map -10" fmic -full borla aft of dp's WTF!!! Please hit me up with suggestions for the beginning of this season.. thanks guys.. |

As I read through your mod list, I don't see anything regarding suspension or tires.
Your mods may be doing what they're supposed to, but if the car doesn't hook up off the line, those mods are overkill. Did you have a lot of spin off the line? Did you launch on street tires? What size? Did you launch in first or second gear? Do you have a 60 ft time from the timeslip? |

I wasnt having much of an issue hooking up. That being said, i was not able to launch the car off the 2step as it was acting funny, i think bc i reset my adaptations on the way to the track. Im launching in 1st on street tires,(285/35/19) and H&R springs. 60' times could definitely use some help. (2.133) I guess i just didnt expect that big of an effect. But now as im rambling off all these negatives, it doesnt sound so far fetched. Also, i need to gain a better understanding of how to adjust the meth. IE, should i always run map 3? Or is 5 or 7 better with meth enabled? What exactly is meth scaling and does the the boost target increase in relation to meth flow only in map 3? And in that case does that mean more meth = more boost?
-god i wish i still had access to e85... :-( |

I'm not really qualified to speak much to the meth aspect; however, 2.133 60 ft is an eternity.
Launching on 19s is definitely holding you back; the fastest non-XI 335s (that I know of) are launching on 15s with street slicks. 15s require different rear brakes to fit but 17s should clear the stock brakes - and they're plentiful and cheap. I would focus on getting that 60 ft time down; slapping on more/better "go fast goodies" will simply continue to leave you frustrated. Your current combo should be enough to have you in the 11s. |

Wow I didn't know non xi models are loosing that much in 60'
afaik a 335xi with just a tune and stock otherwise runs 60' in 1.7sec - that's already almost 0.5sec off your time. Maybe consider LSD? |

Trap speed should be around 124-128mph on your setup. If its less than 122, you need to figure out why.....

FWIW
I've had three DD 335s, all stock with no tune. 1. E90 AWD AT 2. E92 RWD AT 3. E90 RWD MT The ATs were both considerably faster than the MT. AWD was fastest from a stand still, RWD was fastest at highway speeds. BMW really screwed the pooch on the gearing of the AT vs. MT. I'll be dropping an LSD in the MT; when I do, I'll be switch from the stock rear MT gear (3.08) to the stock AT rear gear (3.46). A straight 3.08 swap with the LSD won't net you significantly better performance at the strip, it will simply give you the ability to put power to both rear wheels. If you're looking for improved acceleration, you're going to have to change the gearing. Evolution Racewerks can help with this; they're very familiar with the swap. OP, that's something you may want to consider. |
