bimmer808, why dont you actually explain yourself instead of being worthless as usual?
OP, you can ignore this post and anything above it by this poster. It's common practice to blend in up to 40% ethanol in these cars if you have the tune to run it. No adverse reactions to the fuel system after thousands of members have put hundreds of thousands of miles on their collective cars. I've been running an E25 mix as long as I've had my car and have no problems other than too much power due to the timing advance I'm able to run (I kid I kid, but seriously, no problems).

As for what 93o blend is best...it depends and is so variable based on season and location I'd venture to say that you'd never nail down a solid answer. This month in your area it might be one blend, next month it might be another. Even branded blends like Shell V-Power will vary their blends, and your area might have a great V-Power blend for a few months then a few months after that the Technon blend would be best.

But what real difference will it be? Marginal difference at best. Just buy from reputable retailers and always get 93o and you should be good to go.

Now if STR8-6IX wants to start a seperate thread about ethanol in fuel that might be interesting.

The Costco by me (Maplewood, MN) only has 91 Oct...

Anyone else have Costco Stations that aren't putting out the good stuff?

Depends on your region of the country. In the land of freedom (TX) we get the good stuff everywhere.

My local Tejas Kroger has e85. A 50 50 blend works for me.

Not sure why peeps are hatin. Sure, the "ethanol is not good for your fuel system" comment is a bit of a misnomer, but of course any amount of E you add to gasoline will lower efficiency; not really sure how/why someone is willing to debate that.

I imagine there would likely be a 1-1.5 mpg difference when comparing E0 to E10 though. Given that, if E0 ends up costing less per mile than E10, why wouldn't you run it?

Keep in mind, this is coming from someone that has been running an E60 blend for almost a year now; but as mentioned, if you're not tuned for it there is likely very little if any benefit to E.

You failed to mention the rest of his post "I dont know how ethanol may benefit for turbo engines". If you don't know, then don't say anything. This is of course an N54 section and this guy constantly posts his ignorance. That's why people are hatin.

I'm in California where we get ACN91 octane garbage. I just had some performance parts Emission tested by SEMA organization on my vehicle to get CARB certified where they for some reason obtain/use 93 octane for these tests...anywhoo, they told me to stay away from Costco gas. That Costco buys the cheap stuff from misc vendors (Mosen out here) and that many reports of knocking and bad performance has come from filling there. They recommended the Top Tier guys like Chevron and Shell and even Arco is decent...I still need help figuring out the appropriate mixture to make decent 93 out here so I can use my Cobb Stage1+ Aggressive tune...but meh, too many other priorities.
