one question for you guys....should i go for the ipod cable (£40) or git a 4 gig usb memory stick. is there a difference in the display??

i rather leave a stick in the car than a £200 ipod!!!

Well with the USB stick you would not be able to play tracks purchased from Itunes. The display on the iDrive unit is pretty much the same and although BMW publish a list of compatible USB sticks, it does work with pretty much any brand.

Very good point about the leaving an iPOD in the car though
