Does a n55 Chargepipe fit a N54 Engine

I was just wondering if the n55 Chargepipe fits better than the N54 Chargepipe because someone told me it does.

That would be incorrect. The N55 charge pipe would not have the OEM DV option or BOV option required for N54 vehicles either.

totally does

My n54 is sporting an n55 Active Autoworks CP w/ BOV.

n54 pipe is shorter and uses a long flexible elbow to connect to the cool side of the intercooler.

n55 pipe is longer and only needs a short length of reducer hose (3" to 2.5" i think) to join to the intercooler

The n55 just takes a little more finesse to install because of the length.

Where did you weld the BOV flange on?

You are completly delusional.
You mean you have a 2009+ longer version CP.
Active autowerke does not make a bov cp for n55. N55s have a bov built in to the turbo

I'm genuinely curious why there are a few threads about using N55 charge pipes on N54's? Why not just use an N54 charge pipe?

The charge pipe will fit but you will loose your Diverter Valve setup so it won't work. The N55 pipe does not have any DV ports or BOV Ports on it.

probably because you can get one on ebay for $100. If it does fit, and you are able to weld on a flange for a BOV, it could be a cheaper alternative.

This guys right - I'm nuts. I was mistaking my 2009+ CP for an n55 CP.

Delusions vanquished!

Yea but you could have a huge boost leak potentially if not done right.

The pipe routing, length and fit is the same. What differs is the OEM DV Ports, BOV Flanges or lack-there of for N55 CP's.

Easier just to get the right pipe IMO.

True. 2 years ago, I bought a PLM N54 pipe which it was false advertised to fit N55. By the time I had realized, it was too late to return it. The pipe itself has never been used and it seems like it is of good quality, surprisingly.

Some of the guys I know that have done the T51R mod to the compressor housing do not utilize the BOV since the turbo housing has the space to let the air escape.

I have the T51R mod but still utilize the BOV. I must say, the car sounds amazing with the mod done to the turbo housing!
