Hi,

I have been having this issue for a while now. When I bought the car 2 years ago (03/2007 335i), everything was working fine with my iPhone 6. One day, I started having this problem where the other person could not hear my voice at all. I have searched the internet and I found a few people having this issue but no solutions.

Now I recently purchased a new iPhone 7 and the issue is still there. I highly doubt it is phone related because I had the issue with both phones and even the voice command on the steering wheel cannot pick up my voice.

I am leaning toward a faulty microphone (I inspected the mic and it looks good inside but I cannot tell if it works) but I would like to know if there is another component that could cause this issue? I checked in the Bentley manual but could not find helpful informations.
