I couldn't really figure out which ones were most suitable from their website so am really just going by how everyone is experiencing them first hand. Don't think I can go too wrong with all the options mentioned.

Hi all,
Sorry to bring this back. I just ordered a set of yellowstuff for the fronts but wanted to double check whether I should be changing the rears too? I've read a few posts stating that mixing pads front and rear is not a good idea. Just to clarify, what i was going to do was standard discs, Yellowstuff up front and OEM pads rear. If this is definitely not a good idea then do let me know. Cheers |

Hi all,
Trackday completed, had great weather for it over the weekend and was a really fun day. The car held up better than I thought, engine temps were fine etc....but the brakes were pretty poor. Annoyingly, the yellow stuff hadn't (and still hasn't) arrived so went on with standard brakes. They survived about one/two sessions after which the pedal started going soft and long. Looking back now, I was probably a bit stupid and carried on for the rest of the day which has resulted in a soft brake pedal which after a quick look up indicates I may have boiled the brake fluid...also scary knowing now that I could have got complete brake failure which has slightly put me off doing further events, silly me Got the rear yellow stuff pads on order now so will get them fitted and looking at getting some Motul RBF600 as the fluid will need completely changing, was told to get 3L of the stuff by the local indy which seems quite a lot but itll be a nice upgrade overall. Thanks for all the help. |

I'm surprised you did the track day without even doing a fluid change. Fluid deteriorates over time, so the boiling point is reduced. The long soft pedal you experienced was less to do with pads & more to do with fluid.
My last word is that I will never buy anything from EBC again as my experience with their gear has not been good. Brembo discs, Ferodo pads & ATE superblue fluid has worked well for me on my 50+ laps of the Nurburgring plus occasional UK track days (mostly at Brands). |

I ran Motul 600 in my EK9 and ran hours worth of time in it without issue.
The E90 is a far heavier car, but the brakes are much larger. Don't be put off, use the day as a basis on what to upgrade! If the brakes died, work on them first. Also worth getting the Torque app and an ELM Bluetooth adapter to monitor coolant temps and exhaust temps |

I'd be interested to hear about your bad experiences with EBC. I have read plenty of posts regarding the old compound yellowstuff which wasnt great but as far as i can tell the newer compound is meant to be good. Hope to do the ring one day as well |
