Fibre Broadband Providers
Currently on BT with 52mb Fibre, service is pretty good but with line rental we are paying £69pm!!! They are willing to reduce this to £45pm but this is still £15pm more than Plusnet and TalkTalk etc.
Just worried that going to another provider will be cheaper but service might go downhill. Any of you have Plusnet,Sky, or TalkTalk fibre?? |

I've never heard anything positive about TalkTalk's broadband. Virgin is meant to be good, but will depend on where you are in Horsham as to whether you can get it. I've just signed up with BT on 52Mb for £28.99p/m but know I'm going to have exactly the same issue as you 12 months down the line when the introductory price ends!

i pay £29 for my Virgin BB and line rental (around 50mb) it was a promotional offer that when it ended i rang up and said i would cancel unless they kept the same price, and they did.
Virgin look like they are doing 100mb for £30 at the moment special promo. The speed is very good on virgin but their routers are crap. dont have good range.

I'm with virgin.
100mb for £36 a month (I think) and it's always at least 100mbps. I previously had talktalk and that was very good but not as fast and needed a phone line. I found BT was crap because they cap usage

I'm with Zen, not the cheapest but customer service is excellent and they frequently top the customer satisfaction polls!

I've just had the same issue with BT.
Been a customer of there's since the 70's when my dad signed up with them! When we asked them for a better deal as per the deal they are offering Joe public at the moment they said no Don't get anything these days for loyalty. Have signed up with Virgin now M+ TV package with Asian Mela for the old folks. Phone with Unlimited Talk anytime all week and 1000 minutes per month to call mobiles free answer phone. 100MB Broad Band. £68 per month on a 12 month contract. Previously was with BT for Phone and broadband and virgin for TV and Asian Mela and the bill was almost £100 per month. I love how BT take care of Mr nobody off the street but tell their loyal customers to do one.. great way to run your business ! Just a quick question about the virgin routers.. can I run other slave routers to pick up the Virgin WiFi and boost it around the house? I did that with BT, had the Hub 6 as the main router and used the old Hub 5 router as a slave to pick up the network and boost the WiFi coverage in another part of the house. I have BT Infinity 2, when my 12 month contract ended they tried to charge me around £55. Not happy so i called in ready to leave but was offered it for £37.50 which i reluctantly agreed. Good thing about BT is they have a minimum speed guaranteed and if it doesn't hit those speeds you can leave the contract without penalties. Not sure sure if anyone else does this...
Watch out for plusnet because apparently you need to pay them to leave even when your contract ends which i thought was ridiculous. Not sure if this is true though ? |

We have had talk talk following being with demon (insane how much we used to pay for dialup) right at the start when they were a company called vartec and we have never had a problem only issues have arisen from problems caused by bt/openreach in the cabinet/exchange. Always been looked after by them and they understand customer loyalty.

I live in Horsham, not many options where I live, I am with Now TV, who are sky, pretty cheap £28 or so a month, monthly rolling contract, might be worth checking them out, you could get cash back through quidco too

I'm moving to Gigaclear from BT in a few months time. Looks amazing if you can get it in your area:
https://www.gigaclear.com/our-broadb...s/#product-200 Cheepest package is £41.30 for 50mb up/down, their top package is £76.60 for 1GB up/down! No other ISP comes close to what Gigaclear can offer, especially with upload speed (important to me). Personally i'm going for their 200 up/down package for £54.30, about what I was paying for BT infinity. A good deal, especially as I only used BT for their internet access. Worth checking them out any way

If signing upto plusnet etc don't forget to check Quidco/TopCashback to see what cashback is on offer.
I'm currently in the process of switching from BT (same as the op) to plusnet and will be getting circa £85 cashback. |

I'm on Virgin, it's nominally 152Mbps, and when the kids complain about the broadband QoS I do a test and its usually 140Mbps+. Not too shabby at all. But between TV & compulsory phone line (which no-one uses) it is bloody expensive, so the service should be good.
