On Long Island and considering tints for my AW e92. Love the look of tints on a white car with black accents.

With my last BMW, I got pulled over and slammed with 5 tickets for tints (one for every tinted window I had). I ended up pulling the tints off to get the fines reduced and now I am hesitant to pull the trigger again.

Was I just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or is everyone else getting harassed for tints too?

(I had 35% and had both front windows down!)

I have 35%. 2 years never been pulled over but I hardly drive.

They changed the NYS inspection law and you will not pass inspection with tints on your windows.

im in same spot my friend with a bagged 328 got pulled over twice with tints he got em done from @sanfordautospa they let him off with warnings

I think the issue now is with this inspection law change. Here is a link to what nynyny was talking about: https://dmv.ny.gov/registration/tinted-windows

Wonder if anyone has had an inspection done this year with tints....

A few of my friends have called up their mechanics and they told them they cant pass the car with tints, if they get caught its a 5K fine per car.

Iv had tints on all my cars for years and never have had a problem getting pulled over, I haven't gotten an inspection this year yet though.

Thats what the shop owner toll my friend, The shop will be fined $5000 per car.
