ARC 8 offset anyone running them?

I tried posting this in the right section but I did not get much replies

I m about to pull the trigger on a new set of apex ARC 8 for my car. These are supposed to be lighter tires

The tire shop offer the following set up

18 X 8.5 X ET38
235 / 40 R18

I have been doing some reading and I m getting mixed reviews, on a tire website they recommend 18 x 8.5 x et38 front and back for all wheel drive
However I found a thread where someone was complaining that ET38 in the back was too tucked in

I m trying to have the tires flush with the fenders or close to flush without compromising performance as the reason I m getting these rims is because I would like to start upgrading the suspension in the near future. So I do not want to rub or slow my acceleration for looks if anything I would like to improve my performance.

I know 17s would be better for performance but I like 18s better so I m compromising a little bit there.

Anyone here running ARC 8s that can provide some input or any other aftermaret set up

I m trying to avoid spacers but if I have to install them I have too ,worst come to worst

The rear wheel will be tucked in. This is a relatively small tire and rim width for the rear wheel.

I would suggest increasing the rim width to 9" and try to get concave ARC8 as they complement the car nicely. The issue is that you can't have square rim/tire that will fit properly in the rear and front. If you have square set-up you will need spacers in the back as there is more room in the rear.

As an example, I have 513M rims with 255f, 275r from F80 M3 and they fit like a glove.

Alternatively, you can run 9" in the rear and 8" or 8.5" in the front with different ET that will fit the car without using spacers.

I m confused about concave arc 8 . here is the link to their website https://www.apexraceparts.com/18x9-e...wheel-627.html , I do not see the option for concave arc-8 . I have seen the apex PS-7 which is concave but it is a little too agressive for my taste.

I m trying to avoid running a stagger rim as I would like to have the option to swap all tires. However I m inclining to add spacers in the back. If that was the case would 18 x 8.5 x et38 square set would be my best option? ... What would be the max I can ran in the front where there is less space 18 x8.5 x et 38? , or should I try to go 8.5 x ET 35 all around ... I also do not want to have the tires stick out ...

The front might stick out a little bit but it wouldn't be too aggressive. I use ARC8 17x9 et30 with 235 tire as my winter set and is a bit tucked in the rear but that is fine as I don't want road debris hitting the body. You might need a small spacer in the back depending on the tire type and size. The 18x9 and 17x9 et30 are my favorite ARC8 rims.

thanks for the link. I m looking at the options on the website. So far the best option for what I want is 18x 8.5 xet38 but I ll probably have to add spacers at the back.

I also dont want the tires to stick out as I ll be hitting a lot of stuff. Awesome stuff

would there be any problems if I decide to go 18x8.5 et39 fronts and 18 x 9 et 30 at the back? Im referring at fitment which should be ok but i m referring more to the AWD system. I have read mix reviews regarding running different diameter tires in an AWD

I run 17x9 ET30 Arc-8s. As mentioned, the ET30 is the "Profile 3" and are more concave. This is just due to the offset. For example, the Et42s that they offer are flat on the outside. The smaller the offset on the same width rim, the more concave the rim becomes. So, back to my rims. I run Nitto NT01s on mine, cause they're my track wheels. I will say, the ET30s DO poke out pretty far in the front, but they could even use a spacer in the rear. However, the Nittos are quite wide tires and I don't care if they poke out, cause it's a track set and my car is not lowered at all.

Something like a 18x9 ET30 square set-up WILL work, but I would suggest going with a narrower tire than my 255mm NITTOs. Go with a 245/35/R18 or maybe even a 235/40/R18. The first tire is slightly shorter than the stock wheels and the second tire size is slightly taller, but not by very much either way, and as long as they are all the same height, it's fine as far as ABS and traction control go.

I am currently looking into the same tire sizes on a 18x9ET25 wheel, I'm pushing the limits of the front, but the ET30 should be a breeze.

Having said that, any square set-up (that doesn't poke out a bunch in the front) will need a set of spacers in the rear.

tl:dr For Arc-8s I suggest 18x9 ET30 (Profile 3) with 245/35/R18 or 235/40/R18 (whatever you like the look of best - 235s are taller and fill up the wheel wells more) with a spacer in the rear as required. Throw em on and then decide how far out you wanna bring the rears and add the spacer as you see fit.

Might be hard to see from the side, but this is my track set -up. Keep in mind, I have 255mm wide tires and a 15mm spacer in the rear. These are 17s

With, say, 235s and a 5mm spacer in the rear, they would probably be closer to flush. You can always play with the camber to get them to tuck under as well, if required, depending on your set-up

I would go 17 if I was planning on keeping this car for a long time. But plans are keep the car for a year or 2 max , then I ll make it a winter beater and I m planning on transferring the 18s to a new car , either S4 or M235

I did'nt want to create a new thread, but I finally got the arc-8s like a month ago , after having to bring the car twice to get the balance right. I can finally review the rims. Looking wise I love them , but sometimes I wish I got the VMR , I like both of them , no regrets though

Now the main reason I choose this rims was because they are light and I was hoping it will help on the acceleration . I m happy to say that the car feels lighter and quicker , maybe it is a placebo effect , but from the time I picked up I felt the improvement in the acceleration.

9" width et30 works well, concave profile, can run square without front rubbing and can support 245-255 traffic width. But if you're going this wide up front be sure to dial in some camber.

I am running 18x9.5 +35 square with 255/40/18 tires. Stock alignment with KW v1 coilovers. They fit perfectly, just have a +12mm spacer in the rear to make it look better. These wheels are perfect.

No rubbing with this setup? Can you post pictures? I'm interested because I would like to go 255 up front, but I don't see how they could fit because my 235 are so close to the fender liner.

Are you sure about 40 profile tires? I think that makes the tires too big of a rolling diameter?

yes, I intended them to be oversized to correct the speedometer. About 3% larger overall in diameter.

Thats what I'm running. I did camber plates for safety. I already ruined a 1M bumper from hitting on a bump.
