Another Another Adaptive Headlight issue
* I have looked through most of this forum and others which has helped me so much. However i have an issue.
Currently I have no height adjustment, no adaptive headlights, while in Automatic mode and no error codes. I have replaced two water damaged adaptive headlight modules and attempted to program the new modules to the car. In ISTA D i am able to move the adaptive headlights through their paces without error. I have also reset the control module using ISTA D. There are no errors in ISTA D. In NCS Expert I have reset the CAS module to bone stock and set CHECK SMC ERROR aktiv (after initially it was disabled as a short term fix). I have added $524 (adaptive headlights) to my VO. After that LSMC and RSMC showed up in my control module list and i was able to code them to stock by process ecu/ write to ecu. While looking at the FA list i did notice that $510 (headlight verticle aim control) was not on the list. Is there anything else i could try!!!??? I want my headlights to finally work as designed!

So when you replace the ahl control modules, is it necessary to program them? How do you do that?
I can't think of anything else you'd need to do for your problem. Are there different variants of the headlight control module (not the ahl module) that support/do not support AHL? |

2006 BMW 330i E90 10/2005 Production
VO: E90_#0905&LCAD%0A35*VB33$1CA$205$226$249$255$2AB$3 19$354$403$430$431$441$459$465$481$488$494$497$4AB $4NA$507$520$521$522$524$534$544$563$5GA$639$645$6 63$677$693$694$818$823$840$845$850$853$876$925$992 $9AB-B090 Listed in my VO is the $524 for adaptive headlights but im pretty sure that i should have a $510 also for auto leveling. I tried to add them in my VO but it would come up with an error. After coding, nothing changed. ISTA/d and INPA still show no errors. I added it to the VO and afterwards coded FRM to stock. Then i went back in and coded FRM to my custom preferences (lots of LED's in the car). I didnt touch 'NFRM' as i dont know what that does. In ISTA/d i am able to tell that everyting should work. The lights are able to be controlled up/down/left/right without issue. I have done reference runs, with and without sensor information, without error. There is sensor information with the steering angle sensor and ride level sensor on the scan tool and that works too. EVERYTHING works, it just doesnt do it by itself as designed. > zephyrprime > After putting in new modules, sometimes it needs to be coded, other times not. Coding them is done by adding the modules to the vehicles' VO (see above with the $) and then coding each module to stock using NCS Expert. The VO is simply a list of options for the car.
