Crash damaged e92 project

Hi all,

A friend of mine has bought an e92 which has had a small front impact, mainly bumper and bumper bar and few bits of plastic being damaged.

2 Airbags have gone off.

Apart from the mechanical repair am I right in thinking car needs to be plugged in and errors removed once new airbags installed? New battery safety thingy too?

Any tips greatly received

Correct. It's pretty simple.

Often people bypass this and code out the warnings.

Don't know why you'd do this when it's just as simple to replace the items.

Use ISTA-D and follow the the procedure.

INPA should be able to clear the codes.

So this project seems to have hit a snag...

The car was delivered on a trailer and having carried out the work to repair the cosmetic damage etc, new airbags and what not the car wont start. There seems to be a possibility the engine is seized!

Is this likely. My friend has tried to turn the engine by hand but it doesn't budge. Its a 320i with about 75k miles on. Could he be missing something simple??

Is the starter motor getting power or can you hear the starter solenoid clicking?

Engines won't seize from a small impact so it'll be something else.
