Yeah, don't do that.
Heat will take the temper out of the spring, additionally, how can you ensure equal amounts of heat will go into each side? |

I looked into this even went to see the guy that does it. While I was there he was actually doing someones car. The process works really well and when he ws done it was perfectly lowered 1.5" this was done on a 2015 infinity coupe.
After he was finished he told me he really didn't want to do it for the owner because he car was so new but the guy insisted. He looked at my car and said no way should I do it to my car. Says he really only does to to crappy Civics and other cars for kids that don't have the money or care about doing it the right way. He said he would install a lowering kit if I brought it to him nice guy and honest hard to meet people like that these days. |

I guess at least the guy has half a brain. He is still putting those kids lives at risk reheating the springs like that. As a few people mentioned it changes the structural integrity of the steel and the spring could fail at any time causing serious bodily injury or death.

This is the 3rd thread that I have seen in the past 10 mins that is absolutely ridiculous.
What is wrong with people?! Moderators, how do we take away reps from members? |

Out of curiosity how would this work OP?
You heat it up so much (while they are compressed I assume) until the metal starts to collapse/bend? Once desired ride height is achieved you stop heating and you cool them off quickly right? Does this sound like a good idea to you? |

I f I knew how it works I would have never posted a thread asking how or if it's a good idea. Furthermore I have done my homework and even went to see it done afterwords deciding it is not the best decision and will be buying a proper lowering kit. Does this sound like a good idea to you? |
