Much rather have the X4 4L M Sport,
Never had a X6 but they are a bit marmite, you do or you don't, You have several engines to choose from but I would go for the X Drive 40D @ over 370bhp so no slouch. |

In my opinion, whilst it does have immense road presence it does look a bit like an elephant. X5 is much nicer (E53 and E70 in that order).

The X6 does look like it feel out of the ugly tree & hit every branch on the way down.
I have been out in one & it was a bit meh |

There's actually a Top Gear review of when the first X6 came out that sticks with me. Granted it was filmed in like 10 years ago but the exact words were something along the lines of "the x6 was made by a world for a world which no longer exists".
That refers to the world that created the x6 was one before a global economic crisis, before a recession and all that. Sure that doesn't apply anymore 10 years but I think it perfectly sums up the x6 of that generation. I personally really like the x6 because it's the first coupe-like suv from bmw, but if I could afford an x4 I would go for that instead. |

https://www.pistonheads.com/news/gen...s/bmw-x6/18118 Personnaly, I love the thing and want a latter 1 st gen 4.0d. If you're going to have an SUV have a propper one with personnality. X5 tries to be a 4x4 but frankly I'd much rather have a Pajero for a real 4x4 with reliability incredible abilities with good road manners. It is very marmitte though. Funilly enough my wife loves it. (but then she drives a Z3 Coupe and an old Mini ...) |
