A buddy of mine bought the reman'd ones and he's fine at around the 500 whp level. It's a small sample size, but it's all I have for data. Chris |

Update:
I replaced the valve cover gasket + spark plugs (NGK's gapped to .022) and replaced the JB4 with an updated JB5 G5 ISO....so now my parameters read correctly. Here is an idle log: http://datazap.me/u/gholbein/new-log...1-4-9-10-11-12 And a driving log and a portion coming to a stop light: http://datazap.me/u/gholbein/new-log...-9-10-11-18-24 I think next will be to try a different set of coil packs and reset adaptations....but it looks like it's misfiring even though i'm not getting any codes because of the large amount of timing changing. If neither of those fixes it....i'll try injectors. |

Bouncing timing doesn't mean it's a misfire. The timing it probably moving around because the RPM is changing.
Can you get a log showing long and short term fuel trims for each bank? (I hate JB4 logs) Have you tried removing the JB4, not setting it to Map 0, but completely removing it? This is a much cheaper check that throwing parts at it blindly. Since it idles fine for a bit before bouncing I'm thinking it's fueling related, something to do with it going into closed loop.

And this is actually the 2nd JB4 i've put on the car. The first one was a G4 this one is a G5. I highly doubt it would cause an issue since it was on a previous vehicle and worked just fine. All it can be is fuel, air or spark. I have a set of known good coils i'm going to get tomorrow. I'm going to try those....if those dont work then I'll reset all the adaptations (I did the JB4 reset 1/7 parameter)...then finally injectors since I have Index 5's. I honestly think if I could raise the idle it might be totally fine as well; I just do not have a way to raise it though since I do not think this can be accomplished through INPA. I should note as well that it doesn't always idle fine for a while; once the vehicle is warm it tends to not do so great. |

Update:
I changed the coils with known good coils (thanks to NoGuru !). I also reset all of my engine adaptations. The result: SUCCESS!!! She now purrrrrrrs like a panzer tank. Just a recap: - Fixed valve cover gasket - Changed sparks w/ new - Changed coil packs with known good coils - Reset Adaptations via INPA(Throttle, idle, lambda, etc on page 1, all on page 2) and followed the 30 second throttle hold with KOEO before starting. The car now idles at 650 or 800 whenever it chooses. No stumbles, no shakes, nothing. Smooth as silk. Thanks to everyone that contributed! Chris@VargasTurboTech ferocity02 |

TBH I think it's the adaptation resets that really did it. I'd try that first since it's free.99 (as long as you have INPA or bav tech tool). I just can't say for certain because I did them both at the same time and I was so happy it was fixed I couldn't bring myself to mess with it more. |
