Finally decided to go through with a turbo swap! I'm both excited and tentative about moving too quick. I want to make sure I do this right the first time.

So far ive purchased a set of MMP stage 3 turbos (with an install kit) a stage 3 double walbro fuel pump and will soon be buying some more of the typical FBO modifications. I'll also be getting an oil catch can along with the PCV relocation kit and replacing all the vacuum lines with stronger silicon lines.

So my question is: what am I forgetting?

*Currently I have a JB4 G5 and catless downpipes.

What clutch are you running, this is something to consider. Also is your maintenance up to date (plugs, could, walnut blast, etc..)

Motor mounts, oil pan gasket since you will be dropping the subframe.

Right now I'm on the stock clutch. Definitely need a clutch upgrade but wasn't sure what direction to go with that one. Just had walnut blasting done and the spark plugs were just replaced.

Definitley overlooked that. Is the 335is motor mount much different than the stock mount?

I did the 034 Motorsport mounts when I did my MMPs. I think they were a better price than the 335is mount and a full rubber instead of liquid filled. Got the 034 trans mounts as well.

I'm still in the middle of tuning, but I'm happy so far. No added NVH that I can tell, and they were much firmer than my OEM ones.

It's different enough that if it fails it will prevent your ps pulley from smacking the subframe and shredding the belt causing your engine to ingest it and go kaboom, vs the original part.

+1 for oil pan gasket. Do the crank seal while you are down there. I see you have a 2008.
If you have not done your HPFP I would consider it at this time.

Are you going to do relocation inlets out outlets with these new turbos?

Great advice. I plan to have the upgraded stock location inlets and outlets installed. Didn't want to go hot side with the potential for the manifold to burn a hole in the hose.

Good suggestions! Don't forget access to waterpump/thermostat doesn't get any easier with the turbos out. If they have mileage or years on them... I'd replace while you're there.

Currently at 72,000 miles - 2008 e92. What do you think? Time to replace?

Oh yes for sure.

They seem to most commonly go out around 60-70k. Some as soon as 20k, others (rarely) longer than 100k. At 72k I would 100% absolutely preemptively change it out.

Just checked my records and the water pump was replaced in 2015!
