JB4 Worth It for PI Safety?
I am going to add port injection and was wondering if JB4 was worth having for the port injection controller safety? Or/and if it has any other safety checks built into it?
I am running MHD now, and plan to do a MHD tune with the PI but wanted to make sure I wasn't going to miss out on anything vital. |

I'd skip the aic just to prevent flashing another box.
If you get the jb4 and PI controller. There is no flashing the pi controller but there is flashing the jb4 for firmware updates to enable new features and safety. And you can stack mhd and JB4. Also jb4 has a Bluetooth controller with an IOS or Android app. |

Does anyone have examples on the on the fly map changes? I tried to look everywhere
Example would be, does it become like meth? Will map 3 be PI on or whatever map I set thru the jb4 as PI on, while every other map will be the regular 93 octane? |

You know, we've run all the various tuning methodologies. While we at VTT have our preferences that are specific to our needs (and personal cars), the JB4 certainly has a lot going for it flexibility/safety wise, and simply outstanding support from Terry.

I think you're referring to lean protection. In case there is a misfire, the DME shuts down the factory DI system and the PI continues to spray fuel.
The JB4 is not fast enough to shut down the PI. AFAIK there is currently no solution to this problem. We deal with the risks when running PI. I run FuelIt's PI with AIC and standalone custom tune flashed using MHD. I monitor my plugs and coils very closely. I'm planning to proactively change them out every year. I also pull and check injectors every 6 months. |
