So this is an assembly of some off the shelf components the way they were meant to be put together. Let me grab a picture of the 30 piece sesame street puzzle I just finished, you guys are gonna be really impressed.

For real though PC builds should be banned from the internet unless they involve custom fabrication, liquid nitrogen or phase change, or they're just ludicrously expensive.

Looks great. My only suggestion would be to double check the orientation of the fans. The direction of the fans create a neutral pressure region inside the case. It's not a huge deal but it helps with keeping the inside of your case clean if you had a bit of positive pressure (More intake fans than exhaust).

Yes, we have it set with a slight positive pressure.

Still need to get a filter for the rear 140 intake fan.

I'd be concerned about the effect the top and bottom fans have on proper cooling and air flow. I work extensively in the world of data centers. The servers, storage, networking, etc all have fans which pull air from one side and expels it out the opposite side. I've never seen fans on all four sides of any the equipment I have worked with. Even the densely packed equipment.

Honestly not sure off the top of my head.

MB, CPU, RAM was carried over from our old setup.

Fans, cooling, case, video card were new.

Video card was the most expensive single cost at $700.

All the fans and cooling were probably close to the same price

I read people complaining about the low clock speeds on the MSI 1080ti versions. Should check it out on the msi forums.
I'm happy with my MSI 1080 though.
You're missing a NVME SSD which will complete this build.

The case sits on our desk and has feet to create ventilation space.

Top and bottom fans are exhaust. Intake fans (front and rear) bring in cool air from the outside and cool the memory and MB components. The still, relatively, cool air is exhausted over the radiators to cool the video card and CPU. Also keep in mind that the PSU and drives are in a seperate sealed off section of the case behind the MB. This setup also helps create positive pressure and keeps the inside of the case pretty dust free.

The CPU and video card generate the most heat so if coolers were set to intake then the hottest air in the equation would be circulated IN the case and then exhausted. I thought of it the same as a car intake system (intake, intercooler, turbo, exhaust ).

That was our logic anyway.

I'd really like to get a new MB with black/white accents now....

First I've heard of it. My Ti Armor is actually getting well over the MSI advertised OC speeds.

I get 1950mhz out of the box. MSI says boost clock should get 1650mhz.

The problem with the MSI 1080Ti Armor is the stock cooling is a joke. Before I did the liquid setup it would easily hit ~85-90* on stock clocks. Which then caused the card to automatically underclock itself, but even then it still ran hot. You can read all the reviews on newegg about this. Lots of us posted on the MSI forum about this too, but they locked the threads....

This was the catalyst of getting a new case and cooling setup

Now I remember. It was the stock factory fan maxing out at like 2800rpm or something real low.

My gaming x 1080 does pretty well with a stock fan but you are making me think to go the liquid route. Are you running a Corsair cooler?

The fan thing was the initial rumor for the reason of the high temps, but last I read it has been debunked. The last I saw was that people were saying they used the fan/heat sink from the regular 1080 on the Ti Armor. Which is not adequate at all.

I quit looking into it once I went with the liquid cooling.

I'm running the corsair 280 cooler for the CPU and a Thermaltake 240 for the GPU. The NZXT GPU adapter requires a round heatsink/pump and I couldn't source a corsair locally that would work since corsair has gone with the square heat sink/pump on their new models.

If your stock fans provides adequate cooling (without being too loud) and you don't want to OC the card high then it's not worth it. My setup allows me to run 9 (PSU fan is the 9th) fans total with very low noise.
