Dyno Day near Flint, MI

I did this last year with my E46 and looks like we are going to do it agian this year. It's a lot of fun to do and hang out and talk about our cars.

Yeah I definitely remember talking with you, met a lot of cool people that day. I most likely wont be up again, but if they end up settling on a day that works I might.

I'm in! Please let the dyno operator know I'm bringing a diesel so he can be properly set up. Hopefully should break 400whp/600wtq.

Last year we had a diesel so no issues there.

We couldn't read torque numbers last year though because the RPMs were read off of our coil wires so that would have to get ironed out since diesel torque is the fun number.

Exactly, we definitely want torque numbers. I felt it was on the expensive side for me last year just to see HP. But I'm in again this year if the guy promises to be able to read rpm for diesels.

Ahh that's right. Good thing some of you can remember that.

I think I will remove my Engine cover before I head there so I don't have to mess with pulling it off for the runs.

I spoke with A&A today and they're going to try and get one of two options from DynoJet that will read rpm for gas and diesel without clipping onto ignition wires. Option A plugs into obd port reads data right from the can bus data stream. This is the option I'm pushing them for purchase at it will save time with any late model car regardless of what fuel it runs on. Just plug in and done. Option B hooks up to battery or cigarette plug and and has to potentiometer to adjust the rpm signal out.

Either way, we should have rpm for the 12th for oil burners

So I drove up to Flint today to check out Dyno Day. Got there around 10:30. Place was closed and no BMW's were there!!! Anyone know what happened???

Plus the shop looked very sketchy. I wouldn't have let them touch my car anyway.

What a wasted morning.

You were super late. We all did our runs and left about 10ish but since no one else was there we all went home.

Ryan and I talked about getting phones numbers since a lot of people didn't show this year.
We didn't want the Dyno guy sitting around just hoping we would get more cars and we only ran 5.
Man, I would like to see the numbers yours puts down!

Saw your car at cars and coffee at the M1 Concourse last week Tim but didn't see you around it! The shop is very sketchy and I would like to see something like this done elsewhere in the future.

Too bad I missed seeng you at M1. I'll be at M1 again on 9/23 hopefully you'll be there too. So few BMW's at these events it would be great have a fellow E9X to hang with!
